Aboriginal People
The members of Aboriginal tribes helped one another to survive in the harsh desert. The men hunted large animals such as kangaroos and emus for food and the women gathered berries and seeds. These people know how to find water from waterholes in the dry desert. They could also extract water from the roots of trees.
There are a few different tribes that live in the Gibson Desert. One tribe is called the Pintupi tribe. They have different ways of survivals and traditions. It has a very small population, representing less than 3 percent of the total Australian population.
